What To Get Your Mama Beauty Maven For Mother’s Day!
I like taking my mama or mother in law to Sephora and getting a mini makeover. We usually ask for the eyes to be done since it makes such a difference, let's not forget they're "the windows to our souls". It's a great service you should use, the mama's feel pampered and it doesn't cost us anything - besides the products we purchase, if any.
I also like to do my mama's makeup on special occasions. I'll do a smokey eye to amp up the drama while we have a little bonding time.
“The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It's the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she shows & the beauty of a woman only grows with passing years.” ― Audrey Hepburn

Our mama's makeup needs to change as they mature.
Skin: Of course, always moisturize and use a good primer to prepare that pretty canvas.
Eyes: Always use a primer to prevent makeup from melting and smudging. Use mainly matte eyeshadows to not accentuate wrinkles. Apply the crease eyeshadow looking straight ahead with the brow relaxed, going a bit above the crease so as to see the shade, creating depth in the eye and creating the illusion of a socket area as if there were no hood and blend blend blend. Smudge a bit of eyeshadow on the lower lash line as well, towards the outer third of the eye. Highlight the browbone with a very light color, preferably matte. You can use shimmery on the mid to lower eyelid and to highlight the inner corners of the eye to brighten that area.
As the eyes begin to look a bit hooded the eyelid area becomes some precious real estate and lining the upper eye might just cover the lid completely, I prefer tightlining the eyes, lining the inside of the upper lash line and in between the roots of the lashes. This will make them look bigger and lashes will look fuller. And remember to curl those lashes, add mascara and enhance those eyebrows, it just frames the eyes better! Making them a bit fuller will help mama look a bit more youthful.
Face: Since mama's skin needs more moisture a good dewy foundation or CC cream applied with a damp "beauty blender" is ideal and a good concealer. Also, use cream blushes and bronzers instead of powder, you don't want to accentuate fine lines and wrinkles. Highlight the bridge of the nose, those gorgeous cheekbones and the cupid's bow.
Lips: Matte lipsticks are the trend but add a bit of gloss on the lower lip to add a bit of life to that pretty pout.
