Don't know what to give as a gift? Home Decor gifts are always welcomed and while you are at it, you might as well get something for your place! It's always great to spruce up your casa for the holidays and welcome guests! If we were in Puerto Rico, we would be welcoming parrandas and lots of visits! What are parrandas you ask? It's when you meet up with some of your friends at 2am to go other friends homes. Once you arrive to the 1st home, you stand at the front of the house and yell "Asalto" and start singing and I mean singing with guitars and other instruments making tons of noise. You wake them up, they serve you food, you mingle a bit and take them with you to the next friends house! This could go on till 6am! I remember one summer when I was little I stayed at my tío Ismael's house and we went on my first parranda. It was so much fun! Thank you tío Ismael for the memories.

I love books as a gift, it shows you put some thought into it and you can dedicate it for your loved ones to always remember you by. Here we have some great options for almost everybody on your list.
What child doesn't like fairy tales! This is an excellent gift for any child. The World's Best Fairy Tales is a wonderful collection of fairy tales with beautiful illustrations. My mama gave me this book when I was little and I can't wait to read it to our baby(ies). She dedicated it: "To my Valerie, some day you'll read these stories to your children, as I did to you. Love mama Gladys."
"One sees clearly only with the heart. Anything essential is invisible to the eyes."
Few books have been as universally cherished as The Little Prince, the haunting, lyrical fable that explores the very meaning of life. This deluxe seventieth anniversary gift set includes a hardcover book with the original full-color illustrations, along with two audio CDs (and exclusive download) of the unabridged text, narrated by Academy Award nominee Viggo Mortensen, beloved for his role as Aragorn in The Lord of the Rings trilogy. Rediscover the beloved story that begins with a simple picture and blossoms into a spellbinding adventure.
For the Foodie
Julie Bauer's Paleo cookbook is excellent! My husband and I love to cook and really enjoy sharing this time together and making some yuminess from here. Some of our favorite recipes are: Chicken Carbonara Casserole with lots of bacon! Sweet Potato waffles for dinner which we serve with the Maple Bacon pork loin (but we use pork chops). The Breakfast tacos are excellent, especially the Tortillas and Spicy Sweet Potatoes which we make about once a week! We serve the Spicy Sweet Potatoes with a Grass fed ground beef hash on those nights when we want something easy and quick. My husband's favorite recipe would have to be the Buffalo Chicken Casserole which I made as a surprise for his last birthday.
Chrissy Teigen loves food! You can tell by her instagram and in her new book: Cravings: Recipes for All the Food You Want to Eat she shares some of her love. For years, she’s been collecting, cooking, and Instagramming her favorite recipes, and here they are: from breakfast all day to John’s famous fried chicken with spicy honey butter to her mom’s Thai classics. Salty, spicy, saucy, and fun as sin (that’s the food, but that’s Chrissy, too), these dishes are for family, for date night at home, for party time, and for a few life-sucks moments (salads). You’ll learn the importance of chili peppers, the secret to cheesy-cheeseless eggs, and life tips like how to use bacon as a home fragrance, the single best way to wake up in the morning, and how not to overthink men or Brussels sprouts. Because for Chrissy Teigen, cooking, eating, life, and love are one and the same.
For the Fashion & Cinema Lover
Fashion designers have been involved in movies since the early days of cinema. The result is some of the most eye-catching and influential costumes ever committed to film, from Ralph Lauren's trend-setting masculine style for Diane Keaton in Annie Hall to Audrey Hepburn's little black Givenchy dress in Breakfast at Tiffany's. Fashion in Film celebrates the contributions of fashion designers to cinema, exploring key garments, what they mean in context of the narrative, and why they are so memorable. Illustrated with beautiful film stills, fashion images and working sketches, this book will appeal to lovers of both fashion history and cinema.
Here's one book I would love! Library of Luminaries: Coco Chanel: An Illustrated Biography. Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel's signature style and revolutionary approach to design changed women's fashion forever. Featuring handwritten text paired with sweet illustrations and a tactile cover with foil-stamped and debossed details, this giftable volume sheds new light on the woman behind some of the last century's most iconic designs—from her impoverished childhood in an orphanage to her dreams of becoming a singer and her tumultuous love affairs with Europe's elite. Brimming with excerpts from Chanel's own letters and diaries, these pages reveal the passion and vision of one of the most celebrated fashion designers of all time.
For Personal Finances: To Get Out of Debt
My husband really enjoys listening to Dave Ramsey and he has been a Financial Peace University Coordinator a couple of times. In the Total Money Makeover: A Proven Plan for Financial Fitness you will learn the behavior to get out of debt, on a budget, start using cash and build wealth so you may give and participate in outrageous generosity and be a blessing to others. "“For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.” And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others. As the Scriptures say, “They share freely and give generously to the poor. Their good deeds will be remembered forever.”" 2 Corinthians 9:7b-9
Entreleadership by Dave Ramsey provides the practical, step-by-step guidance to grow your business where you want it to go. Dave opens up his championship playbook for business to show you how to: Inspire your team to take ownership and love what they do, Unify your team and get rid of all gossip, Handle money to set your business up for success, Reach every goal you set and much, much more!
For Self Improvement / Leadership
The book How to Win Friends & Influence People is a fantastic option for everyone and I mean everyone, even for your 12 year old! It has influenced the world and it is just as useful today as it was when it was first published in 1937 because Dale Carnegie had an understanding of human nature that will never be outdated. Financial success, Carnegie believed, is due 15 percent to professional knowledge and 85 percent to "the ability to express ideas, to assume leadership, and to arouse enthusiasm among people." He teaches these skills through underlying principles of dealing with people so that they feel important and appreciated. He also emphasizes fundamental techniques for handling people without making them feel manipulated.
The 7 Habits Of Highly Effective People is a comprehensive program based on developing an awareness of how perceptions and assumptions hinder success - in business as well as personal relationships. Here is an approach that will help broaden your way of thinking and lead to greater opportunities and effective problem solving.
I wish you a Happy & Safe Thanksgiving with family and friends!
I'm off to make some Chocolate Bourbon Pecan Pie & Maple Pumpkin Pie with Pecan Streusel.
