It's always great to spruce up your casa for the holidays and welcome guests! If we were in Puerto Rico, we would be welcoming parrandas and lots of visits! What are parrandas you ask? It's when you meet up with some of your friends at 2am to go other friends homes. Once you arrive to the 1st home, you stand at the front of the house and yell "Asalto" and start singing and I mean singing with guitars and other instruments making tons of noise. You wake them up, they serve you food, you mingle a bit and take them with you to the next friends house! This could go on till 6am! I remember one summer when I was little I stayed at my tío Ismael's house and we went on my first parranda. It was so much fun! Thank you tío Ismael for the memories.

Julie Bauer's Paleo cookbook is excellent! My husband and I love to cook and really enjoy sharing this time together and making some yuminess from here. Some of our favorite recipes are: Chicken Carbonara Casserole with lots of bacon! Sweet Potato waffles for dinner which we serve with the Maple Bacon pork loin (but we use pork chops). The Breakfast tacos are excellent, especially the Tortillas and Spicy Sweet Potatoes which we make about once a week! We serve the Spicy Sweet Potatoes with a Grass fed ground beef hash on those nights when we want something easy and quick. My husband's favorite recipe would have to be the Buffalo Chicken Casserole which I made as a surprise for his last birthday.
